After watching Mr Popper's Penguins, I find penguins so cute and funny that I will choose them as my animal for this exercise.
I found a magazine article called A Peek at Penguins from the January 2003 issue of Ranger Rick magazine. It was one of many newspaper, magazine, website or reference articles results that I found when I searched for penguins. There is a lot of information here! You can click on the camera at the top and it will show only the photos on the page. There are various articles for the different age levels depending on the source. You can find an article in USA Today or like I did in Ranger Rick magazine for kids.

Under the Database Features, I clicked on the "Country Facts" link and I found many different facts about Australia. There are many maps of Australia under the "Maps of the World" link. You could print these off and use them in a classroom or even just personal use on the computer.
I also used the link "Biographies" and found a couple articles for Louisa May Alcott. She is the author of Little Women and other classics.
SIRS Issues Researcher
I chose Banned Books for my issue. The pros and cons and essential questions will deffinately help someone understand this issue. The Topic Overview and the Timeline are great research tools. Through these tools, I find that it also ties in with the Censorship issue.
After clicking on the "Curriculum Pathfinders" link I chose math. There are some fun games on there. There are also different math calculators and exercises you can work with among a whole bunch of other information about math or it's history.
Thanks for your comments, Hannah. You've done a good job of reporting your discoveries, and you have found a number of great things about SIRS. We hope you will let your patrons know about it.
