ArchiveGrid and CAMIO

Discovery Exercise Part 1-ArchiveGrid
Sitting Bull-He was a Native American shaman and leader of the Hunpapa Sioux.

For my own search I chose Mount St. Helens. I clicked on the article Volcano: the eruption and healing of Mount St. Helens. More archival items are available at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Discovery Exercise Part 2-CAMIO
Paul Revere made the teaspoon, tea urn, spoon and sugar bowl.

When I search for "Sioux" my results are anywhere from books to paintings and jewelry.

When I search for "Maxfield Parrish" there aren't very many results. It is neat though to see the museums where the various items are located. I suppose is someone is looking for information on a specific piece of art, we can find out where it's located and contact that museum.

I created a web page in CAMIO using the art from Leonard Da Vinci. I really don't see myself using this resource. It is useful for someone who is into art and wants to find out more about it.

  1. Hi, Hannah. Interesting that the U of MN would have a Mt. St. Helens archive collection. We think CAMIO is a way to bring art museums & institutes to us, since most of them are fairly far away. In many cases you can see items in CAMIO in more detail that if you were standing in front of it looking through a glass case! Thanks for your comments.
